Gaston Medical Partners’ six doctors join Tryon Medical Partners’ 91 physicians as full partners in the practice.
The new name of Gaston Medical Partners Gaston clinic will be Tryon Medical Partners – Gaston.
CHARLOTTE and GASTONIA, N.C. — Tryon Medical Partners announced today that Gaston Medical Partners’ six family practice physicians will be joining Tryon as full partners in the practice, effective July 1, 2021. They will continue to serve their patients at their existing clinic location at 924 Cox Road in Gastonia.
Gaston Medical Partners has been operating as an independent medical practice since November 22, 2019.
“We are grateful to our patients for their loyalty as we transitioned to become an independent practice,” said Dr. Brian Wysong a physician with Tryon Medical Partners Gaston. “We are eager to collaborate with our new colleagues at Tryon, and more convinced than ever that doctor-owned medical practices are more nimble and responsive to patients needs.”

Some patients of Gaston Medical Partners may have received notices from their insurance companies recently that indicated that the practice would be “out of network” at the end of June. This is not the case. All insurance currently accepted by Gaston Medical Partners will continue to be accepted by Tryon Medical Partners Gaston when the clinic’s doctors transition to Tryon Medical Partners July 1.
The Tryon Medical Partners Gaston clinic will also now be able to accept carriers that previously were not accepted by the practice. These include Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue Value, Blue Local and Blue Home insurance plans.
As full partners with Tryon, Gaston Medical Partners’ approximately 13,000 patients will have quick access to Tryon’s specialist physicians and other services offered by the practice.

With the combination of Gaston Medical Partners, Tryon Medical Partners will have 67 primary care physicians and 30 specialty physicians covering cardiology, rheumatology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pulmonary and sleep medicine. It will serve approximately 170,000 patients, and its doctors are supported by approximately 425 medical professionals. The practice operates nine clinics in Mecklenburg and Gaston Counties covering more than 175,000 square feet.
