COVID-19 vaccination

A new COVID vaccine will be released September 2023.

There is a new COVID strain called EG.5, nicknamed Eris, which has been the dominant subvariant circulating in the United States. According to U.S. News & World Report, vaccine manufacturers plan to release a new COVID vaccine in mid-September, pending authorization from the Food & Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which will make recommendations for who should get vaccinated.

Our current bivalent vaccine fights omicron and the original strain of COVID-19.

Eris is related to omicron, meaning the bivalent vaccine you may have received is still good protection against serious illness and death.

COVID-19 hospitalizations are low but infections are on the rise. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is STILL incredibly important.

Tryon Medical Partners is not presently distributing COVID-19 vaccines.
