WFAE 90.7fm (Charlotte’s NPR affiliate) invited Tryon Medical Partners chief operating officer, Jordan Archer, to share on the Charlotte Talks program Monday, Mar. 3, 2025.

Jordan and Charlotte Talks host Mike Collins were joined for an hour long discussion by Dr. Tucker Burks of CPG Pathology and Michelle Crouch, a healthcare preporter for The Charlotte Ledger and North Carolina Health News.

According to NC Health News and The Charlotte Ledger, some Atrium Health doctors use the technology to spot early signs of lung cancer. At OrthoCarolina a tool called Medical Brain works as a sort of virtual office assistant, and at Duke Health AI evaluates patient care data.

Jordan shared has leveraged AI in partnership with athenahealth, the organization that supports Tryon’s patient portal and service authorization process. The company recently distributed a press release that explains how athenahealth’s Authorization Management “Cut Revenue Cycle Management Work for Physician Practices by 50% with AI.”

Here is an excerpt of what Jordan said on Charlotte Talks:

  • “The business of healthcare has gotten tough. Reimbursements have come down and expenses have climbed astronomically. We, at Tryon, are committed to ensuring that care does not waver due to those macro trends. So yes, some of the process automations we have but in place have curbed the cost trend. But what I want to underline is that we have a really strong due diligence process to ensure care is not compromised.”
  • “The AI infusion in the healthcare space will be methodical, because at its core, we’re dealing with human lives here. We’ll have rapid advancement in AI, but because we have this unbelievable relationship with the patient, you will see it be methodical and intentional. That’s how we’re thinking about it at Tryon Medical.”
