When should you use Virtual Urgent Care?
Most people have visited an urgent care clinic, whether for a sudden, minor illness or injury. Virtual Urgent Care works the same way.
Virtual Urgent Care is best used for injuries and illnesses that are minor and not considered to be life-threatening.*
Conditions treated during a Virtual Urgent Care visit:
- Cold, upper respiratory infection, or COVID-19 symptoms
- Fever
- Minor skin irritations like rashes or lice
- Pink eye
- Seasonal allergies
- Sinus infections
- Sore throats
- Upset stomach, including constipation and diarrhea
- Urinary tract infections
* Please note that Virtual Urgent Care is not appropriate for the following symptoms: abdominal pain, back pain, chest pain (including tightness, palpitations, seizures, shortness of breath, fainting or near passing out), dizziness or lightheadedness, hypertension, numbness or weakness, pelvic pain or bleeding, severe headache (including head injury, neck injury, or other trauma), sudden changes in cognitive function (including memory loss or confusion), sudden changes in mood (including severe depression suicidal thoughts or hallucinations), vertigo, or vision changes (including severe eye pain, light sensitivity, blurry vision, or double vision). Virtual urgent care is also not a suitable level of care for pain medication requests.

What technology must I have in place for a Virtual Urgent Care visit?
All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone. You will also need your photo ID.
How much does a Virtual Urgent Care appointment cost?
The cost of a Virtual Urgent Care visit depends on your insurance coverage. If you do not have insurance, Tryon does offer a discounted self-pay rate.
Will I have to wait to see the Virtual Urgent Care clinician?
We have numerous Virtual Urgent Care clinicians available, but you may have a brief wait once you enter the waiting room. This will give the clinician time to prepare for your visit. Please remain in the waiting room until the clinician arrives.
Can the Virtual Urgent Care clinician prescribe medication?
Yes. Prescriptions are handled as they would be during an in-person urgent care visit, and will be sent to your pharmacy. Please note we cannot prescribe narcotics during an Urgent Care Visit.
