When Lindsay Muns joined Tryon Medical Partners in 2025 as CEO of Tryon Management Group, she stepped into a leadership role at a pivotal time for the physician-led medical practice.
One year later, Tryon is growing its physician team, expanding its specialty offerings and looking beyond Mecklenburg County as it works to make high-quality, coordinated care more accessible to patients throughout the greater Charlotte region.
In a recent episode of The Charlotte Ledger Podcast, Muns sat down with The Charlotte Ledger’s Tony Mecia to reflect on her first year as CEO and discuss what’s next for Tryon:
- The conversation covers the opportunities and challenges of growing an independent medical practice in a rapidly expanding market, the importance of maintaining Tryon’s physician-led culture, and how the organization is thinking about growth in the years ahead.
- Muns also discusses what she has learned during her first year in the role, how Tryon is approaching expansion, and why she believes independent, physician-led care continues to have an important place in Charlotte’s healthcare landscape.
- The conversation comes at an important point in Tryon’s growth. Founded in 2014 by physicians who wanted to create an independent alternative to traditional health system-owned practices, Tryon has grown from its original primary-care focus into a multispecialty medical practice serving patients across the Charlotte region.
- For Muns, the next chapter is about building on that foundation while making sure growth remains connected to the organization’s core purpose.
- “We’re really focused on how do we make sure that we can continue to deliver the kind of care that our patients have come to expect from Tryon, while also growing and making that care available to more people,” Muns told Mecia.
