Dr. Norton Says:
“I grew up in Charlotte and was inspired to become a doctor by my mom, who was a family physician. I saw how hard she worked to provide compassionate and thorough care to her patients and her community.
During medical school at Duke University, I was drawn to dermatology when I shadowed one of my mentors. I was amazed how quickly a patient was diagnosed with melanoma, a potentially deadly skin cancer. My residency training at Duke University prepared me well for diagnosing and removing skin cancer, treating acne in teenagers embarrassed by their appearance, and making a difference to patients of all ages and walks of life.
After training, I moved to Montana for six years to address the shortage of dermatologists in rural areas, even flying on a plane once a month to run a clinic near the Canadian border. Now with two small kids, I wanted to return close to family. I’m excited to provide dermatology care at Tryon Medical Partners, where I can provide excellent care to the community and work with a diverse group of
colleagues across many specialties.”
