Cecilia Says:
“I have always believed in the statement that good nutrition is a human right. When living in Jakarta, Indonesia, I witnessed food as a scarce commodity. Malnutrition and food insecurity continue to be serious issues in Indonesia, mainly because of the ongoing economic crises and the lack of food subsidies for urban poor and unemployed families.
When I moved permanently to the United States in 2002, I was stunned to see that the citizens of a country of limitless choices of enriched and fortified products were poorly nourished. The profound desire to provide health services to others has caused me to focus my attention on nutrition. Teaching, educating and working with adults and children has been a natural career choice. My philosophy of care is to engage every patient individually and develop attainable food and activity goals to sustain long-term success.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my Australian Shepherd, cooking ethnic cuisines, and competitively playing basketball, pickleball and/or badminton.”
