“I grew up surrounded by medicine, inspired early on by my father, Dr. Larry Berman, whose compassion and dedication as a physician shaped my own passion for patient care. Medicine is truly a family calling — my husband, Briggs Ahearn, is an orthopedic surgeon with OrthoCarolina — and having thoughtful medical discussions at home reinforces the strong foundation that I bring to my practice each day. My patients are incredibly important to me, and I value the lifelong relationships we can build in internal medicine as we grow together over time.

Prior to transitioning into internal medicine, I worked years practicing in urgent care with Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and Bon Secours Healthcare System in Greenville, SC. While I appreciated the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to treat a wide variety of conditions, I missed the ability to follow patients longitudinally. Internal medicine allows for me to form meaningful, lasting connections and truly partner with patients in their health journey. I like to call myself the quarterback of medicine, and make sure I get patients to exactly where they need to be to make sure they are getting the best care in all areas!

Outside of medicine, I am a proud mother to three daughters, Olivia and twins Ella and Mia — and our household keeps my husband happily outnumbered! We also share our home with a fluffy white cat, Leo, who is king of the castle. As a family, we love to travel, and I have a very special fondness for all things Disney.”
